Signal Wireless Surveys

The AIB Wireless Survey provides:

  • A detailed analysis and description of your existing wireless network to provide a baseline for upgrades, to ensure compliance with your wireless policy and to identify unauthorised or rogue networks
  • Clear, unambiguous identification of all other wireless networks that may be interfering or compromising your network

The Challenge

It is inherently difficult to predict the performance of wireless systems and to detect the presence of interfering signals without the use of sophisticated test equipment.

Walls, doors, furniture and other obstacles can all cause radio frequency radiation patterns to be irregular, unpredictable and thus unreliable in their service delivery. And in this challenging communications environment, users are constantly demanding an increase in their ability to roam and access corporate resources, regardless of their location.
Why AIB Wireless?

The AIB Wireless Survey is designed to ensure that you have at your fingertips an up to date description of your existing wireless network or system, and information about any neighbouring systems which could impact on their efficiency.

The Survey is an independent, unbiased and cost-effective document which can be used for a variety of purposes including:

  • Establishing a baseline for new wireless installations or network upgrades
  • Verifying a new or existing network
  • Identification of performance and security concerns
  • Confirming compliance to wireless standards and wireless policy
  • Integration of new wireless technologies
  • Planning for network upgrades
  • Identification of unauthorised or rogue networks

The AIB Wireless Approach

An AIB Wireless engineer, armed with floors plans of the building, carries out a comprehensive walkthrough using handheld portable equipment to measure the strength of wireless signals and to assess physical aspects of the existing infrastructure.
The AIB Wireless Survey Deliverables

The resultant data is processed to provide a visual representation of coverage throughout the measured building, and presented as a detailed report to include:

  • An executive summary providing top level interpretation of the results
  • Graphical coverage maps to provide an extremely visual and easy to understand view of the wireless systems
  • Confirmation of all wireless infrastructure equipment
  • Recommendations and conclusions, including an assessment of the coverage, network quality, throughput for wireless data systems, interference issues, security and encryption
